As you may be aware from adverts in Rotary Magazine, Riviera Travel very kindly offer “10% back” to a specified Rotary club, when somebody books travel with them. You can see some examples here.

As any monies rasied through this route come into our charitable arm, we do have a small amount of process associated with it, particularly to enable the member to have some influence over where the money is spent if they wish, as follows:

1. The person booking the holiday through Riviera Travel should have some say in where the money goes, which can of course include the club’s own general pot.
2. The money can only be given to a cause supported by the club.  If the cause the member would like to support is currently not supported by the club, then they’re required to submit a project request to the relevant service team for the cause to be added to our “approved list” if they approve of it.  This can then be used when the payment request is sent to the CIO Treasurer. 3. The money can only be paid to the approved cause once it has been received from Riviera Travel.  Borrowing ahead from club funds is not permitted.
4. As the payment of  the money to the cause has to be managed by the CIO Treasurer and Trustees, it is thought desirable that a small “handling charge” be paid out of the money to the club’s general pot to cover that “cost”, the exact amount being decided by the relevant service team.
