About us

We are proud to be part of Rotary International, a global organisation – one of the world’s largest and most successful global membership and humanitarian service organisations, with 1.4 million members in over 200 countries.

But we’re also deeply embedded in the Winchester community are passionate about bring people and organisations together to do great work for a range of fantastic causes, while also having fun and building friendships along the way. We’re a projects-based club so this means there’s always various events and projects coming soon or on the horizon for you to get involved with, and you can join us for just one project or several. The choice is yours. The most important thing is that you get involved. We’re always on the look-out for more people to join us, either as volunteers or as a Rotary member.

In common with Rotary GBI’s 40,000 members in over 1,500 clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, our volunteers and members are volunteering their time and talents to tackle challenges at home and abroad in Rotary’s cause areas:

  • Promoting Peace
  • Fighting Disease
  • Providing Clean Water
  • Supporting Education
  • Saving Mothers and Children
  • Growing Local Economies
  • Supporting the Environment

We are local, national and global. In a nutshell, we raise funds for other charities, locally and nationally, tied to these seven objectives. We are proudly building on our 90 year history in the city of supporting many local charities, providing financial, professional and physical assistance for those people who are vulnerable and in need.

Similar to “Twinning” of towns, we are part of a multinational tripartite grouping of clubs, along with Oberhausen Anthony Hutte in Germany and Le Harve de Grace in France. This includes a rotating annual get together in each Country, and supporting each others’ projects. Additonally, over recent years, we have built an extensive working relationship with the Rotary Club of Kasese Snow Peaks in Uganda.
