Our February breakfast took place a week earlier than usual and at a different venue. We were welcomed to Bar Lento, in Southgate Street by owner Sarah Strangeway. The Spanish-themed bar/restaurant is becoming a popular meeting place in the city – offering tasty tapas as well as meals throughout the day.
14 members plus one guest (John Kernick, invited by Rob Carter) enjoyed a splendidly varied Spanish Breakfast, seated in the cosy “yurt” at the back of the premises. Sarah told us about the origins of the business and her own interest in Spanish food. Her vision is quality food in a welcoming setting. She is certainly achieving this!
Club business was kept to a minimum – but it was another opportunity to bid “adios – hasta la vista!” to Anthony Arkwright whose idea this breakfast was.
