On the 5th Monday in September 2025, a number of members, plus a guest from Winchester Round Table enjoyed a fun evening at the Willow Tree pub in Winchester.
Situated opposite Trinity Winchester and the very handy Durngate carpark, the Willow Tree is now managed by the same people, who run the Queen Inn, down by Winchester College. Though we didn’t get to take advantage of it, the pub has a very pleasant garden with a branch of the River Itchen running down each side.
Although small in number, due to the lateness of the organisation by yours truly, there was plenty of chatter over very nice food. We were very well looked after by the staff, who also made sorting out the bill very easy.
If anybody has any suggestions for other hostelries in or around town that we should try in future, please let me know. Note, that I might ask you to help with making the arrangements 🙂
