Bangkok Bistro Fund Raising Evening – 11 March 2024

In line with many requests for more social activity and more informal meetings, the first meeting of March was held in the new premises of Bangkok Bistro, over the road from the original restaurant, refurbished to provide a pleasant setting for up to 80 people.

We had a good crowd of 58 people drawn from far and wide with some former members, existing members and their partners, members of Inner Wheel, Rotaract, Winchester Hospice and personal friends.

We were treated to a Welcome Drink, accompanied by some atmospheric singing from French singer, Muriele, which set the tone for the evening.

This was followed by a delicious two course meal with plenty of Eastern flavour and spices. The meal and initial drinks were kindly provided by Rotarian Miff Kayum through his manager, Murat, at cost price, enabling us to provide a donation within the cost of the meal for guests, towards Winchester Rotary’s Charity of the Year – Winchester Hospice.

In addition there was a raffle with some wonderful prizes donated by the restaurant and also several members.

All in all, a total of just over £800 was raised, which we were able to do in a fun filled sociable evening. Rotary at its best, embracing the Community.
