Crocus planting on St Giles Hill

On Thursday 17 November, together with Anna, fellow Rotarians Joe Bright and Julian English plus some local residents of St Giles Hill, we planted 800 Purple for Polio Ruby Giant crocus corms on the slope behind the St Giles Hill viewpoint that looks over the city. Come spring visitors and locals alike will hopefully be pleasantly surprised when they visit the view point!

We are awaiting confirmation of one more city centre site before the end of November to be confirmed, by which time all our allocation will be safely planted.  Basingstoke Deane Rotary kindly bought some of our surplus corms.

Joe’s photos can be seen here (including some great city views):  Crocuses at St Giles Hill
