The latest zoom meeting for the Global Rotary Clubs of Winchester took place on 9th May 2025. For the first time we were joined by the Rotary Club of Winchester, Indiana.
On this occasion there were only 4 Rotary Clubs of Winchester on the call, (see screenshot), there are 6 in the group: Kentucky (KY), Massachusetts (MA), Tennessee (TN), Virginia (VA(, Indiana (IN), and ourselves. KY and VA were unable to attend. However, it was great to meet both the current President Lisa, and incoming President, Leah, both of IN.
These monthly calls with clubs in the USA started in July 2020. We have not missed one during that time, although not every club has made every meeting. We share information about projects, club plans and many other varied topics, invariably with a laugh.
We discussed the potential to do a second joint project, possibly in GLPC. MA made a donation in 2023 towards the maternal ambulance in GLPC. IN already already have a presence supporting some projects in Kampala, Uganda. They were very keen to expand their involvement further in Uganda. Hopefully, all or most of the 6 Rotary Clubs of Winchester will join in. More details in due course.
Richard Spalding
Well done Richard.
Have you any more Winchesters in your sights?
The background behind you, is it where you’ve been or just an off-the-shelf image.?
Do you get an indication as to how these other Clubs are ‘doing’ membership wise?
