July Breakfast Meeting

A well-attended breakfast meeting took place on Wednesday 23 July, when we were delighted to welcome Shirlene Oh (Chief Strategy & Population Health Officer at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) and her colleague Natasha Kerrigan (who was responsible for the new hospital project). We were also joined by three members of Basingstoke Deane Rotary, who were interested in the subject of the meeting, city councillor Kelsie Learney and Beauman Chong (trustee of Hampshire Hospitals), who had facilitated the invitation. The meeting was chaired by President Mark Butcher, in the absence of Rob Carter, who was away on holiday.

Following brief club business, our guests spoke about a number of topical Trust issues, including the hospital project, finance, waiting lists, and recent achievements.  A lively Q&A session followed, where issues of importance to both Winchester and Basingstoke were covered.

We are very grateful to Shirlene and Natasha for making space in their busy timetable. There may be a return event in Basingstoke, to which Winchester Rotary members will be invited.

Paul Temple (Basingstoke Deane), Maggie Hastie, Natasha Kerrigan, Shirlene Oh and President Mark Butcher
