Club members will recall that Winchester Rotary UK has teamed up with several other Rotary Clubs with the name Winchester Rotary in the USA. Two of those clubs helped us in the purchase of a Maternal Ambulance for GLPC in Kasese, Uganda to take pregnant ladies from remote areas in labour to the local hospital using an adapted tricycle with attached cart.
This went into service in July 2024 and made at least 20 trips delivering needy people to hospitals in the area. Earlier this year Winchester Rotary (UK) provided the funds to fully equip the vehicle with specialist medical equipment to assist the ladies whilst on their journey.
