National Memorial Arboretum Commemoration Service

Each year on the first Wednesday in July, the Adjutant General’s Corps hold a Commemoration Service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to commemorate those who served on the corps and to remember our comrades who have passed on during the last year and beyond. The Corps Colonel Commandant, Corps Colonel and members of the Adjutant General’s Corps attended the service. During the service, wreaths were laid and standards dipped in commemoration. After the service, attendees came together, renewing old friendships and making new ones.

Officiating at the service and supporting the Worthy Down Padre was Rotarian Reverend Graham Topping, the Winchester Rotary Club Chaplain. Graham has attended this event for the past seven years. During the Service, and because of the Worthy Down links with our club and our city, Graham was able to give greetings from President Deborah as well as from the Mayor of Winchester.  Over the last few years, Winchester Rotary has established a great relationship with Worthy Down, most recently the mentoring course our Youth Team Chair Maggie Hastie has just organised with a group of Rotarians for Year 7 students from Henry Beaufort School at Worthy Down.
