Reverse Santa ends with almost 400 gifts collected!

For a second year Winchester Rotary’s Reverse Santa project again provided gifts for less fortunate children and families in the Winchester District. Children and parents were invited to donate gifts to Santa, with the result that almost 400 toys and other gifts were collected! These have been delivered to Winchester Basics Bank, who will arrange distribution to those in genuine need of help.

Notices had been placed in a number of community publications, including the parish magazines of Kings Worthy and St Lawrence Church in the city centre. Donations came from far and wide – including families and friends of Winchester Rotary members and the Beyond Group Training gym at Winnall.

Carter Jonas Estate Agents provided a very useful city centre collection point for members of the public at their offices in Jewry Street. Sophie Richardson, Head of Residential Sales at Carter Jonas told us: “We were delighted to assist with the collection for the Rotary Club’s Reverse Santa. We were overwhelmed with the response, and it was great to know that the gifts were going to such a worthy cause”.

Things like this can only happen with support from the wider Winchester community (business and the general public alike) and we are really grateful to everyone who has helped
us.
