Our annual tea party for senior citizens in the Winchester area, took place on Saturday 29 March in Itchen Abbas Village Hall. Almost 100 guests attended – and the Mayor of Winchester Cllr Russell Gordon-Smith, and Mayoress Dinah Ashcroft joined us too.
Members of the Chesil Theatre provided a short dramatic entertainment on the theme of “love and marriage” – and course the ladies of Inner Wheel provided a splendid tea. Winchester Rotaract members helped with preparation and serving. There was also a raffle and table quiz.
Huge congratulations and thanks to Anne Smith, who masterminded the event and her team of Rotarian helpers. We were delighted that a reporter from the Hampshire Chronicle (Chris Atkinson) came along and his report and photos can be seen here. The article is also in the print edition of 3 April 2025.
