Winchester Rotary is on target to add 700 Christmas shoeboxes again to the annual Wessex Rotary Shoebox appeal.
With contributions from 8 primary schools and 2 playgroups as well as individual donors, churches and other organisations, Rotary provides the boxes to be filled with age related presents, educational and hygiene items for disadvantaged children in Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and lastly, Ukraine through their fellow club contacts in Poland.
With some 50 Rotary clubs taking part in the South Rotary will be dispatching over 20,000 shoeboxes for these children in time for Christmas!
Over the last few days boxes have been checked and now await transportation to the Bournemouth depot on 28 October.
