During this week the team has planted another 15 disease resistant Elm tree saplings at:
- Kingsworthy Primary School on Tuesday, February 4th – Team: Dave Stewart, Nick Bell, Peter Dingley and Mark Butcher.
- Royal Winchester Golf Club on Thursday, February 6th – Team: Dave Stewart, David Pollard, Dave Pearson (Guest from the St. Giles Hill Graveyard team) and Paul Russell (Club President). Mark Butcher was also there to begin with in a cheerleader / photographer role.
Despite the cool weather on both days, very good progress was made by the teams. In fact, at Kingsworthy school, there was almost nothing for us to do as the caretaker, Chris Carr had already dug the holes and the children were very keen to get stuck in with back filling and healing in the saplings.
All that remains now is the planting at Twyford Watermeadows and Winchester Cathedral. Dates to be confirmed.
