On the afternoon of Thursday, March 6th, our team of Dave and Anna Stewart, plus Alison Chase from the Friends of St. Giles Hill Graveyard, and Mark Butcher had the enormous privilege and pleasure to work in the private gardens of Winchester Cathedral alongside the beautiful Mill Stream, which flows from Abbey Gardens. A true oasis of calm.
Working alongside head gardener Patrick Green, the team planted 5 disease resistant Elm trees of three different varieties, including one standard, which was a good 5 to 6 metres tall.
Special thanks to Paul Russell for transporting the mulch from Mark’s house whilst his car is out of action!
