Event details
This month we’re having an update from Alister Veitch of Acorn Bioenergy who have built the new anaerobic digester at Three Maids Hill.

Since its first day of operation (1 August 2025) the plant has produced 57,011,373 kWh of energy and, has saved, 14,252,843 kg of CO₂.
The Three Maids Renewable Biomethane Facility is Winchester’s first anaerobic digestion plant. It produces sustainable biomethane, green CO₂, and nutrient-rich digestate, creating clean energy while promoting a circular economy.

By transforming organic by-products into valuable resources, the facility supports local agriculture, strengthens the regional economy, and generates employment opportunities. As a flagship project, Three Maids contributes to the UK’s renewable energy strategy and plays a key role in the national journey towards net zero.
