In an effort to help as many of the trees we have planted at Hinton Ampner survive the rigours of our much more varied weather, the National Trust team are in the process of mulching the saplings, and have asked for our help.
We have planned two sessions so far, with a view to seeing how well it will work for us, as it is clearly very different work than the tree planting was:
- Thursday, 7th May 2026
- Tuesday, 26th May 2026
For the first session, the plan is to park in the National Trust’s main car park and meet at the entrance way to the top part of the parking (go all the way around the loop, past visitor reception, to the top car park on your left), which is identified in the map below:
What you will need to bring:
- Suitable footwear (Wellingtons, Sturdy boots, etc.)
- Gardening or other suitable gloves
- Clothing for the weather conditions
- Snacks and lunch if appropriate
