Event details
The annual Winchester Round Table Bonfire and Fireworks Display is on 7th November 2026.
Volunteers required – from stewarding the Procession from the High Street to the Arena and marshalling up to 20,000 attendees at this spectacular fireworks display we are looking to provide over 50 – 60 volunteers. Please make this a priority.
Please volunteer. This is a key event for Rotary and the more volunteers we can provide, the more funds Rotary will receive for helping at the event. We’re hoping that it will be in line with previous years, i.e. £50 per volunteer, meaning we could receive between £2,500 and £3,000.
What roles are available to our volunteers?
We need volunteers to assist in four categories (see below). When booking, would all volunteers please state which of the following categories they would like to do:
A. Arena security – fireworks guard – this is pre event – from 12:30 to 18:30
B. Procession stewarding
C. Arena – on site roaming
D. Arena – on site gates
B – D require volunteers to be there at 16:30 but firm timings will be confirmed nearer the time.
Please note that this year there is no requirement for merchandising sales on the High Street, marshalling the toddlers tent or manning the ticket office.
Torch Management and Health & Safety – following concerns raised over the manning at the Gates last year and in particular collecting torches from the public, Round Table have assured me that they are putting together a Torch Management process and the relevant volunteers will be briefed accordingly.
For anybody wishing just to attend the fireworks, please see here for details.
If you have any questions relating to the event and volunteering for it, please contact Crispin Tomlinson, copying Mark Butcher
