Winchester Rotary Project ‘Winchester Stroke Support Club’ is meeting this week at Cobb’s Farm Shop for tea and cakes. Thursday 19th Feb, Starting time 2:30pm
We are in need of additional regular volunteers who can help to make the afternoon go well for the clients. A typical session starts with a talk or a quiz, followed by seated exercises lead by a professional exercise therapist. We then have a refreshment break, and in the second half there are a mix of table activities, including games, art, chat as the clients wish. The sessions run from 2pm to 4pm, but volunteers need to arrive 20 minutes earlier to set up, and also help to clear at the end. Volunteer participation can be in a rota to do the refreshments, to arrange occasional quizzes, to lead the session or just keep to the clients company.
