Event details

We have been asked by Wonderseekers to help with preparation for the opening of three new nature-based outdoor exhibitions at Winchester Science Centre. Winchester Rotary has already helped fund a wild live bird hide, and it would be great to be involved in the opening of the exhibits.

When:

  • Wednesday, July 8th
  • Thursday, July 9th.

Tasks as follows:

  1. Laying grass mats – 90m2 – Half a day (assumes 5 people)
  2. Moving woodchip from loading bay to Dino Dig (lower lawn) area and then dumping and raking woodchip in picnic area – 200m2 – Half a day (5 people)
  3. Moving woodchip from loading bay to Chalk Stream (upper lawn) area and then dumping and raking woodchip in designated areas 230m2 – Half a day (5 people)
  4. Help moving benches into picnic areas – Half a day (5 people)

Risk assessments are in place, and all necessary equipment will be provided. We will be working alongside the Wonderseekers team, who will give us instructions and guidance.

Hot/cold refreshments will also be provided. Parking details will be forwarded later.

Please indicate in comments Wednesday or Thursday, morning or afternoon. When I have an idea of how many are interested, and when, we can make a rota.
