The competition is organised and promoted by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (Rotary GB&I). The Winchester competition is the first stage of this national competition, the final of which takes place in the spring of 2024. In recent years, two of the Winchester winners have made it through to the finals and won the national competition.

It aims to encourage young people to: 

  • experiment with filmmaking;
  • use digital and/or traditional methods of filmmaking;
  • demonstrate interpretation of the theme;
  • express ideas through filmmaking.

There are three age categories:

  • Up to to and including 10 years old
  • 11 to 13 years old
  • 14 to 17 years old

Your task

To produce a film of up five minutes duration based on the theme, ‘Rebuilding’.  

Mobile phones may be used in addition to cameras. Please use all devices horizontally or landscape not vertically or portrait. To accompany the submission, each entrant must provide a brief sentence describing the relationship of the film to the theme.e theme.
