Winchester Rotary Logo

Has taken part in the

WESSEX ROTARY SHOEBOX SCHEME

which collect and send shoeboxes to disadvantaged children in Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Ukraine in time for Christmas

The card boxes were supplied by Wessex Rotary

Here is a leaflet and video which show you how they were made up. It then explains what items can be put in them that are suitable according to the gender and age categories shown below.

This year Winchester Rotary contributed 638 boxes towards the 18,699 boxes that are being sent in time for Christmas to disadvantaged children in Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Poland (where many displaced Ukrainian children are now living). We have also been able to send woollen jumpers, scarves, hats, gloves and blankets knitted by local craft groups.

Getting ready to despatch the boxes from our warehouse in Boscombe.  18,000 boxes filled with gifts and useful things were donated including Father Christmases!
