Conversation Starters v2

This is the torchlight parade

The event raises approximately £80,000, from which Round Table give a generous donation to our Trust Fund. Every pound goes back into the local community to help charitable organisations.

The biggest charity event of the year in Winchester, attracting over 10,000 people. We help Round Table to marshal, sell tickets, carry donation buckets and sell merchandise in the High Street.

This is the life saver

Winchester Rotary endeavours to respond promptly to international and UK emergencies, with donations made from its own charity funds to those global charities best placed to respond to these, such as ShelterBox.

In recent years, our donations have supported responses to:

  • Earthquakes in Indonesia and Albania
  • Fires in Australia
  • Volcano in Guatemala
  • Floods in India, Uganda and the UK
  • Cyclones in the Caribbean, Malawi and the Philippines

This is cool rivers

In partnership with:

and various local land owners, plus with the backing of a Rotary District Grant, we have been supplying and planting thousands of pounds worth of trees and shrubs, with local provenance, to help tackle climate change and keep the internationally rare habitat of the chalk streams cool.
